Description	:	Like his father, Sewall was a ship captain who sailed from Searsport (Waldo County) Maine according to the book Searsport Sea Captains by Colonel Frederick Frasier Black (1960) p. 43. According to that source, he sailed on the following vessels: the bark Thomas Armstrong (1879), the bark John Bunyan (1882-1886), the bark James G. Pendleton (1888-1894), the ship William J. Rotch (1895-1898, 1900), and the ship Helen A. Wyman (1900-1902). According to this source, the ship William J. Rotch was the first American ship to enter the port of Vladivostok, Russia.
