McMullen, 89, of 130 Willow St., city [Hillsboro], died Thursday at 4 p.m. at his residence. He was the son of John and Louise Head McMullen, and a lifelong resident of Highland County. Mr. McMullen was a retired mail carrier and at one time operated a grocery store in the city. He was born July 2, 1875. Surviving him are his wife, Ada Baker McMullen, and one brother Ben McMullen, Lynchburg. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 P. M. at Evans Funeral Home, with Dr. Paul Jones officiating. Burial was made in Hillsboro Cemetery. Masonic services were held Saturday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home."
