Description	:	Polk Progress 8 September 1966 Carl A. Wilshusen, 80, of York, a retired Polk County farmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 31 at York General Hospital where he was admitted two weeks ago. Born June 9, 1886 in Polk County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wilshusen, he attended the Immanuel Lutheran Church and school in the Polk Community. Read More	Polk Progress 8 September 1966 Carl A. Wilshusen, 80, of York, a retired Polk County farmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 31 at York General Hospital where he was admitted two weeks ago. Born June 9, 1886 in Polk County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wilshusen, he attended the Immanuel Lutheran Church and school in the Polk Community. On February 15, 1909, he was married to Lydia Blase. He was engaged in farming until 1945 when he retired and moved to York. Both in the Polk community and at York, in Mr. Wilshusen was active in church work. He served on the building committee of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at York. He built and erected the lighted cross which hangs back of the altar at the York church. For several years he was a school board member at Polk. Surviving besides his widow are one son, Elmer of Polk, three daughters, Mrs. Erwin Light of York, Mrs. Alton Driewer, Bradshaw, and Mrs. Raymond Sagehorn, Polk; one brother, Otto of Crete; one sister, Mrs. Helen Mundt of Hampton; one half-brother Gus Scheer of Alliance; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his parents were one son, Clarence; one grandson, one sister, two half brothers and two half sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York and burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Polk. The Rev. Leland Kleopfer officiated.
