Description	:	Carl Christian Frank was born January 27, 1882 near Gladstone, Jefferson county (sic), Nebraska. He was the son of Christian and Sophia Frank. On November 19th of the same year, he was baptized in the Christian faith by Rev. Tester. He was reared and educated in the vicinity of Gladstone, and was there confirmed at the age of 14 in the Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. Gehrmann. Read More	Carl Christian Frank was born January 27, 1882 near Gladstone, Jefferson county (sic), Nebraska. He was the son of Christian and Sophia Frank. On November 19th of the same year, he was baptized in the Christian faith by Rev. Tester. He was reared and educated in the vicinity of Gladstone, and was there confirmed at the age of 14 in the Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. Gehrmann. On September 4, 1917, he was united in marriage to Anna Bauer also of Gladstone. This union was blessed with four sons. One son Lawrence, preceded him in death in the year 1923. After living for five years on a farm near Gladstone, he and his family moved to Chester where he spent the remaining days of his life. During the 25 years in this territory, he operated the local restaurant. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church (sic) of this town. The deceased enjoyed good health until the last two months when he suffered a stroke which eventually was the cause of his death. He passed away Saturday evening, August 14, at 9 p.m. at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 18 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three sons, Lavere and Marvin of Wichita, Kansas, and Leland of Chester; one brother William of Fairbury, three grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church (sic). The Rev. E.B. Hilst spoke on Psalm 116:15. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." A quartet consisting of Walter and Marie Poppe, Merton and Louanna Grabau sang: "Be Still, My Soul" and "Heaven is my Home." Pallbearers were" Rudolph and Fred Poppe, M.J. Harms, August Graue, Jr., W.O. Kuhlmann, and Fred Oeltjen, Sr. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery (sic).
