Description	:	Ree Heights Review, Ree Heights, Hand, South Dakota July 23, 1938 Two men drowned in Jones Lake Sunday, William Nuhring, of Miller and Carl Gillan, 22, Vayland. The accident occurred about three o'clock Sunday. Leonard Dixon, St. Lawrence, Marten Halverson, Miller, with the two victims wee spending the afternoon near the south end of the lake when Dixon, Nuhring, and Gillan decided to enter the water to cool off, none of them were able to swim - then they hit deep water and went under. Halverson was able to get the attention of a pleasure boat on the lake and flagged it down, the boat was driven by John Haverstock and Miss Ruth Andrews of Miller. Ruth being a Red Cross life saver, soon brought up the body of Bill Nuhring, but it was too late to save him.
