Casey and Myrtle Elson OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 26, 1992 CASEY Carl Dean Casey, son of Pearl and Myrtle (Elson) Casey, was born March 9, 1926 in Lineville, Iowa. He passed away March 21, 1992, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon at the age of 66 years and 12 days. Dean served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was employed by the Department of Transportation for 37 years. He was a life-long resident of Wayne County. He was united in marriage to Anita Simmons on Dec. 3, 1960 in Unionville, Mo. Dean was a member of the Corydon American Legion, Corydon Masonic Lodge 91 A.F. & A.M. and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, the Odd Fellows Lodge and a member of the Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Irene, a brother, Hollie, and a granddaughter, Holly Briggs. He is survived by his wife, Anita, of Corydon; two sons, Eldon Shriver of Des Moines and Larry Shriver of Davenport; two daughters, Pam Briggs of New Sharon and Pat and husband Lyle Smith of Garwin; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Cora Casey of Corydon and Donna Campbell of Princeton, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Jenny Casey of Omaha, Nebr., two nephews, one niece and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held March 23, 1992, at 1;30 p.m. at the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with the Rev. Ross Blount officiating. Masonic services were held Sunday evening at the funeral home and military honors by Russell E. Marshall Post No. 68, Corydon American Legion were held at the cemetery. Interment was in the Corydon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Hawkins, Dick Moore, Warner B. Warren, John Woodruff, Bill Goodyear and Walt Paschell.
