Description	:	Carl Edward “Charlie” Bahr, 71, of Iowa Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Scenic Manor. A private family viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Woodley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Charlie and his family. Charlie was born on July 4, 1947 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to John Carl Edward and Doris Velma (Tjarks) Bahr. He attended Ellsworth Community College. Charlie farmed with his parents. When his parents retired, they moved just a short distance north of Iowa Falls. Charlie managed the local Big Bear Store, worked at Riverside Book and Bible and then finally at Theisen’s in Iowa Falls. Charlie took great care of his parents until the time of their deaths. He loved his work at the farm stores and delighted if giving shoppers a “hard time”. He would make sure to have fun with most of the customers. Everyone wanted to see Charlie when they went into the store. There wasn’t anything that he would not do to help you find what you needed. Everyone knew Charlie. Charlie loved to garden and bake. He enjoyed his extremely large garden which was always weed free. He would garden and bake only to share his bounty with his many friends. All that knew Charlie new of his “wit” and how he enjoyed “picking” on his friends and customers. You always knew you were in for some fun when you would see him. Charlie loved his family and they loved him. The staff at Scenic Manor the last few years were the source of his happiness along with his caring sister, Ruth Turner. All loved to see Charlie smile. In Memory of Carl Edward “Charlie” Bahr is survived by his siblings, Dennis (Kristi) Bahr of Webster City, Iowa, Dale Bahr of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ruth (Craig) Turner of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Larry Bahr of Iowa Falls, Iowa; nieces and nephews: David Bahr, Mike Bahr, Dana Bahr Diebert, Daniel Bahr, Heather Turner and Matt Turner.
