Description	:	CARL KOLLMAR Carl Floyd Kollmar was born on Oct. 2, 1937, in Battle Creek, Neb., to Delia Darlene (Anderson) and Carl Elbert Kollmar. He died in Hood River, Ore., on Jan. 4, 2008, at the age of 70. Mr. Kollmar grew up in Nebraska and moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1957. He later lived in Cottonwood, Calif., before settling in the Gorge area in the late 1960s. He worked mostly as a mechanic, a job that suited him as he had a fondness for anything with an engine. He loved Harleys and cars, the older the better. Mr. Kollmar was a member of the Eagles. Survivors include his children son Eldon Ray Kollmar of Klamath Falls, Ore., daughter Lavonne Kay Simmons of San Jose, Calif., son Robert Kollmar of Washougal, son Raymond Kollmar of White Salmon, son Richard Kollmar of Boise, Idaho, daughter Denise Hambleton of Casper, Wyo.; brothers Roger Kollmar of Riverbank, Calif., Mel Kollmar of Las Vegas, Nev., Elton Kollmar and David Short both of Stevenson; and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four wives, Ruth Ann, Colleen, Vinita and Helen. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with interment at the White Salmon Cemetery.
