Description	:	Carl Francis Abell, Sr., 70, died at his residence. He was the son of the late John F. Abell and Dorothy V. Kucher Jr. He married Barbara Anne Abell on June 14, 1958 in Holy Angels Church and she survives him. He is also survived by his children; John F. Abell, Katherine M. Triplett, Carl F. Abell, Jr., Alison A. Beavan and Theresa L. Abell, and his sister Dorothy Victoria Hayden as well as nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, Carl graduated from St. Mary's Academy "Class of 1956". He was an electronics technician for the Naval Air Station at Patuxent River, retiring in April of 1988. He was an artist, sign painter, chef, restaurant owner, caterer and he made rosaries. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD with Fr. Francis Early officiating. Interment followed in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers were be Ricky Blair, Jamie Hayden, John F. Abell IV, Tony Bailey, Colby Beavan and Justin Beavan. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home.
