Description	:	According to obituary found in the Clarksville Star 2-12-1959. Carl was baptized into the Christian faith in infancy in Germany. At the age of 12 years he came with his parents to America and they settled in the Pleasant Valley vicinity. Mr Nordman renewed his baptismal vows in the rite of confirmation in the Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church. At the age of 12 years he came with his parents to America and they settled in the Pleasant Valley vicinity. Mr Nordman renewed his baptismal vows in the rite of confirmation in the Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church. He spent his entire life in the Clarksville area with the exception of 3 years which were spent in SD in the early 1900's. He was united in marriage with Dorothea Weinberg in June of 1908. They made their home on a farm north of Clarksville. To this union two sons were born. In 1920 they moved to a farm on the east edge of Clarksville. At that time they became members of Immanuel Church of which he was a member at the time of his death. Sorrow came to his life in 1933 when his wife died. He continued farming until 1943 when he retired and purchased his present home in Clarksville. Mr Nordman enjoyed good health up until a little over a year ago, although due to the infirmaties of older age, his activity was somewhat curbed. When it seemed no longer advisable for him to remain alone, he made his home in the Ahrens' Rest Home here in Clarksville. His condition gradually became worse and hospitalization was required on Saturday. Death came to him early Sunday 2-8-1959 having reached the age of 80 years, 2 months and 1 day. Mourning his passing are his two sons Reginald (of Clarksville) and Martin (of Waterloo). He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held in Immanuel United Church of Christ with the Rev Reuben J Topp in charge.
