He was born Feb. 23, 1868 at Weitenhagen, Germany the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Oestreich. When 7 months old he was moved to Two Rivers, Wisconsin and in 1873 to Nebraska and lived on a place 5 miles north of Norfolk. He married Bertha Leu in October 1893. Carl Oestreich Sr., died at his home in Norfolk on Monday. He was born Feb. 23, 1868 at Weitenhagen, Germany the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Oestreich. They were the parents of 11 children and 10 are still living. She died Jan. 28, 1925. On April 27, 1930 he married Miss Bertha Broscheit. She died June 1941. He married Ida Schwede in September 1943. Survivors are his wife Ida, 7 daughters Mrs. Emma Sellin, Mrs. Ella Drews, Mrs. Erna Raasch, Mrs. Hilda Gutzmann, Mrs. Hertha Carrico, Irene Carsten, Mrs. Anthony Schoenfeldt, 3 sons Carl Jr., William, and Arthur; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of stepchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Verona who died 3 days after birth in 1907, 2 sisters Mrs. William Leu, and Mrs. Carl Winter.
