Description	:	Carl Henry Spaulding was born in Delton, Wisconsin, June 17, 1869 and departed this life Sunday morning, July 9, 1939, aged 70 years and 22 days. He came to Nebraska when 17 years old, living with his grandfather near Fairbury, later going to Cedar Rapids where he was employed by the S. S. Hadley Co. Read More	Carl Henry Spaulding was born in Delton, Wisconsin, June 17, 1869 and departed this life Sunday morning, July 9, 1939, aged 70 years and 22 days. He came to Nebraska when 17 years old, living with his grandfather near Fairbury, later going to Cedar Rapids where he was employed by the S. S. Hadley Co. Here he met Edith May Poor, whom he married October 16, 1890. For a time they lived in Lincoln, later returning to Boone county where he made his home until his death. To this union were born eight children, Sumner of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ernest and Bion of Valley, Rose E. Johnson of Albion, Kenneth C. of Horse Cave, Kentucky, Henry W. of El Monte, California, Wilma L. Williams of Loretto, and Grace E. Beckwith of Valley. Mr. Spaulding was always interested in the civic life of the community, serving for many years on various school boards, as secretary of the Albion Elevator Co., and Albion Live Stock Association, and as director of the Boone Co-Fair Association. However his chief concern was for the church of his Lord, and here he served as deacon for more than a quarter of a century and as treasurer of the Albion church. He was known in his community as an upright, honorable citizen, highly respected by those with whom he came in contact. His children and grandchildren in recalling him will always be impressed by his high sense of honesty in all of his dealings and his clean, Christian life. He leaves behind, his wife, his eight children, eleven grandchildren, one brother and three sisters in Wisconsin, also a half-brother in Illinois, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ by F. S. Spaulding and Bernard Smith of the local congregation. Those attending from a distance were Mrs. Roy Palmer of Fox Lake, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Browers of Primrose, the F. S. Spaulding family of Jonesboro, Ark., and Mr. and Mrs. T. J.
