Description	:	Carl H. Johnson started working as a laborer for Barry O'Leary in Billings in 1936 and later became foreman of the form setter crew. In 1942 he moved to Sanders where he farmed and worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, returning to work for Barry O'Leary in 1948 and retiring in May 1968. Mr. Johnson, 82, of 40 Jefferson St., died Wednesday afternoon in Western Manor Nursing home where he had resided since April 1985. He was born in Varberg, Sweden, a son of Johan August and Beata Johansson. He was raised and educated in Sweden and came to Billings in 1920, where he worked at various jobs, including a bakery and the City Water Department. On July 15, 1934, he married Flora Swanson Olson in Fromberg. They farmed in Deaver, WY for a couple of years, returning to Billings in 1936. They later moved to Sanders and in 1948 returned to Billings. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Harriet) Slough of Hysham and Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Scheafer of 41 Monroe St; two sons: Harvey Olson of Missoula and Harold Johnson of Billings, MT; Three sisters, Mrs. Nils (Alma) Lindquist of Chicago, IL; Mrs. Frieda Wallin of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Mrs. Arvid (Bertha) Magnusson of Gothenburg, Sweden; a brother Oscar of Sweden; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Smith Terrace Gardens Chapel with burial in Terrace Gardens Cemetery. ====== In Sweden, his name: Karl Hjalmar Johansson, having 9 siblings.
