Description	:	Carl Lee Jauken, 82 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, (formerly of Overton, Nebraska) went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Lee was born August 24, 1936, on the family farm northwest of Oxford, in Harlan County, Nebraska, the 13th of 14 children born to William Henry and Minnie Caroline (Winters) Jauken. Read More	Carl Lee Jauken, 82 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, (formerly of Overton, Nebraska) went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Lee was born August 24, 1936, on the family farm northwest of Oxford, in Harlan County, Nebraska, the 13th of 14 children born to William Henry and Minnie Caroline (Winters) Jauken. He received his education at the Mascot Public School. Lee’s first employment was with the Plectron Corporation in Overton in 1959. Before the plant closed in 1983, Lee was honored for his 24 years of service and loyalty. In the spring of 1984, Lee began his employment with Allmand Brothers of Holdrege, working 13 years until his retirement in 1997. On July 11, 1964, he was united in marriage to LaJean Faye Samuelson and to this union 3 children were born: Laura, LuAnn, and Lonnie. The family made their home in Overton for over 50 years, until Lee’s health declined in 2016, and they moved in Holdrege. Lee was a member of the Westmark Evangelical Free Church of rural Loomis, where he served on the church board as Trustee and served many years as the Sunday school recording secretary. Lee was also active in the youth AWANA program. Lee took great pride in his lawn and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. But most of all, he loved spending time with family, and taking them on vacations to Worlds of Fun. In later years, he loved having the grandchildren come to visit. Besides his parents; Lee was preceded in death by eight brothers: John Jauken; Hank Jauken; Bill Jauken and his wife, Orpha; Royie Jauken and his wife, Donna; George Jauken; Clyde Jauken; Alvin Jauken and his wife Dorothy; and Neil Jauken and his wife, Elaine; five sisters: Verna Frost and her husband, Don; Eldora Vandenberg and her husband, Cornelius; Beulah Falk; Margaret Chattin; and Donna Anderson. Lee leaves to celebrate his life; his loving wife of 54 years, LaJean of Holdrege; three children: Laurie Hohman and her husband, Doug of Holdrege; LuAnn Krusemark and her husband, Scott of Omaha, Nebraska; and Lonnie Jauken and his wife, Debra of Holdrege; seven grandchildren: Allie and Isaac Hohman; Andrew, Nathan and Kylie Krusemark; and Mason and McKinley Jauken; two sisters-in-law: Anita Jauken of Lacey, Washington, and Eunice Jauken of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two brothers-in-law: Rev. Maynard Falk of Holdrege, and Darol Anderson of Georgetown, Delaware. Also surviving are; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roy and Kathy Holmes of Overton; Keith and Rogene Samuelson of Holdrege; Butch and Marlene Braught of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; and Stan and Pam Esslinger of Kearney; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service for Carl “Lee” Jauken was held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Westmark Evangelical Free Church in rural Loomis, Nebraska with Pastor Mike Hellum, Pastor Daren Popple, and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Interment followed services at the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege was in charge of the arrangements.
