The Hand of Death Carl Moehr Answers Final Summons Sunday Last Sunday at his home southwest of Charlotte occured the death of Carl Moehr, after an illness extending over a year. Deceased was born in Germany in 1858 and came to America about thirty-two years ago, residing for 25 years on the farm where he died. When a young man he was married he was married to Miss Josephine Kruse who, with the following ten children, survives him: Emil, Albert, Amanda, Carl, Hattie, Alma, LeRoy, Grover, at home; Mrs. Herman Meyer of the Elvira neighborhood; and Mrs. August Dethman of Stockton, Iowa. Carl was one of those honest and sturdy farmers who have done much to make this country what it is. During his many years residence in this vicinity his business and social relations with his fellow men were always pleasant and being naurally of a joyful disposition, he made friends with hose he met. When Carl started out for himself he was comparatively poor in purse, but by hard work and frugality died possessed of a large number of well tilled areas of rich Iowa land which he leaves as a heritage to his wife and children. He labored in the fields and til failing health compelled him to give up tyhe arduous duties of farm life. For the past several months the nature of his disease prevented him from reclining and he was forced to spend his days and nights iin a chair but he bore his troubles bravely. He was an industrious farmer, a good hearted neighbor and had a host of friends who will regret to hear of his death. He was a member of the Chrlotte Woodman Camp and the Chrlotte Mystic Workers, members of which mourns the departure of a good associate. The funeral was held yesterday with interment in the Ingwersen cemetery. The Charlotte Record, May 2, 1912
