Description	:	Carl was born in Dundy County Nebraska to Joseph Henry Reining and Marie Reiman Reining. Carl attended Benkelman High School in Benkelman, Nebraska where he was a good student and excelled in boxing and football in addition to doing his farming chores. After graduating from Benkelman High School in 1941, Carl worked on the family farm outside Benkelman until joining the U.S. Navy. Carl attended Benkelman High School in Benkelman, Nebraska where he was a good student and excelled in boxing and football in addition to doing his farming chores. After graduating from Benkelman High School in 1941, Carl worked on the family farm outside Benkelman until joining the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he married Hazel Mae Hanshaw, to whom he was married for sixty-seven years. He is survived by his four children Carla Dolan (Barry), Joseph Reining (Michele), Rebecca Keller (Tom), and Lisa Seiders (Steve); four grandchildren, Timothy and Patrick Dolan and Andrew and Pamela Daley; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition he is survived by his sister, Laveta (Pat) Ogle of Cheyenne, Wyoming, as well as nieces and nephews. Carl and Hazel moved to Denver, Colorado, after his discharge from the Navy, and he began work with the Rio Grande Railroad as an executive secretary. From there, Carl worked as general manager for an eight-retail store company before employment with Montgomery Ward as manager for stores in Denver, Santa Fe and Colorado Springs. After receiving further education as an accountant, he worked overseas in Greenland as an auditor for a general contracting firm. Upon his return from Greenland he worked in home building in Colorado Springs, and then along with Hazel founded and operated Reining Blueprint and Graphic Arts Company. After the sale of the blueprint company, he was self-employed as a tax consultant for many years. Carl served on the D-49 School District Board of Education as director, and was also involved as president and treasurer for two other corporations. After retirement, Carl enjoyed traveling with his wife and together they saw many states. At heart Carl was an outdoor kind of guy who enjoyed fishing, hunting, planting, gardening and doing lawn and outdoor work on his homes. As Hazel once said about him, "You can take the boy out of the farm but you can never take the farm out of the boy." He had once told his father he wanted to go to college to become an electrical engineer, and he would have been a good one because he could fix anything. Carl told wonderful, colorful stories about his childhood: riding his horses, taking in stray animals, and sneaking into neighbors' fields to sample their watermelons. He was a kind and compassionate man who loved his wife and his children above all else. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Hazel his parents Joe and Marie, his sister Veronica and his brothers Alphonse (Bunt) and Dalbert. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and especially by his children and grandchildren who will remember him with love always. Funeral services will be held at Divine Redeemer Thursday, November 8 at 3:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Blunt Mortuary 2229 W.
