Description	:	Carl Robert Oltman Danekas, son of Mr. Robert Danekas and his wife, Grace, nee Busboom, was born at Milford, February 28, 1906 and was baptized April 29, 1906 by Rev. G.A. Kanzler. He received his Christian training at home. He attended the West Blue Sunday school and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 9, 1922 by Rev. G.A. Krueger and received as his consolation verse the words of Apostle Paul, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes it." Read More	Carl Robert Oltman Danekas, son of Mr. Robert Danekas and his wife, Grace, nee Busboom, was born at Milford, February 28, 1906 and was baptized April 29, 1906 by Rev. G.A. Kanzler. He received his Christian training at home. He attended the West Blue Sunday school and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 9, 1922 by Rev. G.A. Krueger and received as his consolation verse the words of Apostle Paul, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes it." After his confirmation he was a faithful member of the West Blue church, as long as he lived there. He was at one time Sunday school teacher and also president of the Evangelical league. After graduating from the Milford High School in 1925 and from the Chicago Technical College in 1928, he worked as an electrician, first in Seward and then in Scribner. He married Miss Dorothy May Gregg of Scribner, June 20, 1930. Together they attended the Congregational Church in Scribner. He led a faithful Christian life to the end. Last Friday Mr. Danekas was working on a new high line at Howells, Nebraska, and he was working near the top of a pole, putting the last wire in place and finishing the day's work when he met his death. He was called away from the world, Friday, April 10, 1931 at 6:02 p.m. at the age of 25 years, 1 month, and 12 days. Mr. Danekas leaves to mourn his death his sorrowing wife, Dorothy May of Scribner; his sorrowing parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Danekas of Milford; his grandmother, Mrs. Wm. Beenders of Crete; a brother, Irvin Danekas of the U.S. Navy; two sisters, Margaret and Agatha of Milford; several uncles, aunts, and cousins, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational Church in Scribner at 2:00 p.m., Monday, and at the home of his parents in Milford at 1:30 p.m. and at the West Blue church at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. O.E. Pinckert in charge. It was one of the largest funerals ever held at the West Blue Church. Interment was made in the West Blue Cemetery. Source: The Crete News, April 16, 1931
