Description	:	Carla S. (Zarse) Coffin, 72, died on November 9, 2019 at her daughter's home in Reynolds, IN. She was born at the former Home Hospital in Lafayette, IN on May 20 1947, a daughter of the late Albert and Myra (Cowger) Zarse. (Zarse) Coffin, 72, died on November 9, 2019 at her daughter's home in Reynolds, IN. She was born at the former Home Hospital in Lafayette, IN on May 20 1947, a daughter of the late Albert and Myra (Cowger) Zarse. On July 6, 1968 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, IN, she married Denny Coffin; he survives. Carla was a 1965 graduate of Chalmers High School and had attended some college. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church and had also attended the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Monticello. Carla had worked at Purdue University for over 22 years, retiring in 2008. She had worked in several departments while working at Purdue University such as payroll and accounting. After her retirement, she when to work for the Twin Lakes School Corporation, serving as a cook at Roosevelt Middle School. Prior to going to work at Purdue University, Carla worked at Moormans Feed and had also served as the secretary at the St. James Lutheran Church. Carla loved her grandchildren, cooking and canning. She is survived by her husband; three children; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Carla was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dakota Adam Coffin; and honorary brother, Wayburn Norfleet. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, IN. Rev. Charles Blakey will officiate. Burial will take place at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds, IN.
