The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Rev. Julian Ford and Rev. Frank Limehouse III officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Todd Limehouse, C. W. Limehouse III, George Limehouse, Josh Limehouse, Justin Wilkes and George F. Lee and Kyle Edens. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Wood, D.D. Salley, Woodrow Fair, Alan Johnstone and Jimmy Dantzler. Mr. Limehouse, also known as "Spec," was the son of the late Frank Friedeberg Limehouse and Bessie Ayers Limehouse. He was born in 1915 and spent his entire lifetime in Orangeburg. He was married to the late Dottie McKeithan Limehouse. He graduated from Emory Law School and was a practicing attorney in Orangeburg for over 50 years. He served as school attorney and city attorney. At Emory, he was one of the Emory Aces, a popular dance band that traveled the world over. With a lifetime love of music, he enjoyed playing the trumpet and piano. Mr. Limehouse served in the Army Air Corps as 2nd Lieutenant during World War II as navigator. He was shot down over Holland and spent nine months in a prison camp in Barth, Germany. He was also a recipient of The Purple Heart. He served three terms in the South Carolina House of Representatives, having served on the Ways and Means Committee. He was a past member of the Jaycees, the Lions Club, the Country Club of Orangeburg and the American P.O.W. Association. He was one of six founders of First Federal of Orangeburg. Survivors include his son Carlisle Walker "Bubba" Limehouse Jr. of Lexington; daughters, Mrs. James F. (Chris) Walsh, Orangeburg, Mrs. George F. (Jane) Lee, Mount Pleasant, Mrs. A. Eugene (Kathy) Wilkes, Orangeburg, Mrs. Marshall (Beth) Edens, Lexington; brother, Frank F. Limehouse Jr., Orangeburg; sister, Kathryn L. Rosen, Sumter; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. James (Chris) Walsh, Orangeburg SC 29115. Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
