Dean was born in Glenmora, Louisiana on January 22, 1935 to Mary and Jessie Johnson. He was a graduate of Plainview High School in 1953. Dean served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. Dean was born in Glenmora, Louisiana on January 22, 1935 to Mary and Jessie Johnson. He was a graduate of Plainview High School in 1953. Dean served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. He has lived in Lake Charles since 1987. Dean worked and retired from the Kansas City Southern Rail Road over 30 years of service. He loved NASCAR and working in his flower beds. Dean was a member of United Transportation Union for over 30 years. He was a member of Calcasieu Baptist Church in Rapides Parish. He is preceded in death by one daughter Paulette Murray, two sisters Lenora Ray and Eunice Johnson, and his parents Mary and Jessie Johnson. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 35 years JoAnn Jackson Johnson of Lake Charles, two sons Carlos Delane Johnson and wife Cindy of Florien, LA, Garland Paul Smith and his wife Catrina of Moss Bluff, LA, three daughters: Tina Louise Johnson and husband Mark of Anacoco, LA. Reneta Joyce Geoghagan and husband Bob of Many, LA, Deanna Lynn Cloud and husband Greg of Moss Bluff, LA, four brothers: J.B. Johnson, Elvin Johnson, Charles Johnson, and Carl Johnson, four sisters: Jewel Johniken, Pauline Stanley, Laverne Chenevert, and Evelyn Johnson, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 3:00 PM from the Calcasieu Baptist Church in Union Hill Community. Rev Dewayne Bolton will officiate. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday at the church at 10:00 AM until the time of services.
