Mr. Gibson was born in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School and Clemson University. He lived in several different states during his working years, but he always referred to Georgetown as home. Mr. Gibson was the son of Corrie Mae Lambert Gibson and Robert Henry Gibson of Georgetown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Lee Hall Gibson of Ocala, Fla.; a son, Clifford Gibson (Karen) of Atlanta, Ga.; and four beloved granddaughters. He is also survived by a sister, Aldean Moore (Harry) and brother-in-law, Billy Hall (Anita), all of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Carlton B. Gibson. A memorial service for Mr. Gibson was held at Ocala West United Methodist Church in Ocala, Fla. A memorial service at a later date will be held in Georgetown.
