Pastor Joel Wentworth will officiate, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Bristow. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer, Nebraska. Carol died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Niobrara Valley Hospital in Lynch, Nebraska. Carol Ann Sedivy, daughter of Con and Minnie Burchell, was born March 3, 1944, at Ainsworth, Nebraska. Carol attended school at Woodlake, Nebraska and later at Wayne State College. On July 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to Gordon Sedivy at Woodlake, Nebraska. They were blessed with four children, Brian, Bruce, David, and Pam. Carol taught school at Gretna, Nebraska, before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska, and later Randolph, Nebraska. In 1968, Carol and her family moved to the family’s homestead north of Bristow, Nebraska, where she reside until her death. Carol worked for numerous years at Spencer Library, was a substitute teacher at surrounding schools, and also taught pre-school at Lynch, Nebraska. Carol was a member of Rosedale Covenant Church and Gross Women’s Club. She greatly enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing, playing piano, singing, baking, and cake decorating. Carol is survived by her husband, Gordon Sedivy of Bristow, Nebraska; children, Brian (Lori) Sedivy of Spencer, Nebraska, Dave (Jodi) Sedivy of Valentine, Nebraska, and Pam (Bill) Koupal of Mitchell, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Sedivy, Chad (Kenna) Sedivy, Amanda (Chad) Beeson, Allison Sedivy, Tyler (Jordan) Sedivy, Daniel Koupal, and Becca Koupal; four great-grandchildren, Ellie Sedivy, Owen Sedivy, Amber Beeson, and Brandon Beeson; brother, Bill (Kathy) Burchell of Ainsworth, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Luella Sedivy; nephew, Tom Burchell; and nieces, Christy Killian and Emily Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Con and Minnie; infant son, Bruce; grandson, Nicholas Koupal; and father and mother-in-law, Frank and Ella Sedivy.
