Carol Ann (Renter) Geiger, daughter of Harold and Marie (Wacker) Renter, was born November 15, 1936, in Pierce County, Nebraska, near the community of Breslau. Carol Ann (Renter) Geiger, daughter of Harold and Marie (Wacker) Renter, was born November 15, 1936, in Pierce County, Nebraska, near the community of Breslau. Carol attended rural school for a time in Antelope County, and then attended District #16 in rural Pierce County. She later attended and graduated from Plainview High School with the Class of 1954. After receiving her education, Carol worked at the Plainview sale barn, until her marriage to Arthur Geiger on February 13, 1955, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. Carol and Art were blessed with seven children: LaDonna, Barbara, Sandy, David, Dennis, Nancy, and Karen. The young couple began their married lives on a farm northwest of Osmond, Nebraska, in southeastern Knox County, until moving to the Geiger Family Farm located 5 1/2 miles north of Breslau in the spring of 1976. Carol was a homemaker, farmwife, and mother, raising her children, tending to her large garden, and raising chickens, ducks, and geese, as well as dressing them for people. She later worked as a cook at the Plainview Manor and Creighton Care Centre, before her health caused her to retire. After Art's death, Carol purchased a home in Creighton in October of 1998, residing there until moving to the Creighton Care Centre in June of 2009. In her early life, Carol was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview, where she was baptized and later confirmed. She then became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton, where she was involved with the Bible study group. Carol enjoyed belonging to her card club and going to the Creighton Senior Center. She loved making quilts and tying them for her grandchildren. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carol loved talking about them and all they were doing, and proudly displayed their numerous photos. Carol's life and memory are forever cherished by her children: Barb (Doug) Johnson of Osmond, Nebraska, Sandy (Lorenz) Hoffart of Pierce, Nebraska, Dave (Patty) Geiger of Creighton, Nebraska, Dennis (Lynne) Geiger of Pierce, Nancy (Doug) Doerr of Pierce, and Karen (John) Andrew of Randolph, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda (Don) Kieckhafer of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Warren (Dorothy) Renter of Creighton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by: husband, Art Geiger; daughter, LaDonna M. (Geiger) Bertschinger; son-in-law, Tim Louis Bertschinger; grandson, Aaron Hoffart; parents, Harold and Marie Renter and sister-in-law, Jackie Renter. Burial was in the Eden Valley Cemetery, Plainview, Nebraska.
