Description	:	Carol A. Griesey-Whitaker, 74, of Monticello, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Waters of Covington, in Covington. She was born in Huntington on Wednesday, August 11, 1937, to the late Frank and Gladys (Budreau) Winner. Carol was a 1955 Graduate of the Monon High School of Monon. Griesey-Whitaker, 74, of Monticello, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Waters of Covington, in Covington. She was born in Huntington on Wednesday, August 11, 1937, to the late Frank and Gladys (Budreau) Winner. Carol was a 1955 Graduate of the Monon High School of Monon. On October 20, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Chruch, in Reynolds, she married L. Dean Griesey. He died August 6, 1992. Then on June 29, 1997, in Monticello, she married David E. Whitaker. He died on Thursday, April 29, 2004. She retired as a loan officer after 21 years from the old State and Savings, in Monticello. She then went on to work at the White County Courthouse, in Monticello, working in the Clerk's Office for numerous years. Carol also worked with the American Heart Association for several years as well as with the White County Election Board. Carol is survived by her daughters, Cindy (husband: Randy) Tolley, of Covington, and Connie Griesey, of Lafayette; her grandsons Ryan (wife: Katie) Tolley, of Convington, and Regan Tolley, of St. Louis, Mo.; her brother, Norman F. "Norm" (wife: Charlotte) Winner, of Gwen, Mich.; a dear friend, who was like a sister, Barb (husband: Vern) Adkins of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gladys (Budreau) Winner; her husband, David E. Whitaker; her sister, Janie Marie Crisp-Roth; and one nephew. Visitation and Rosary Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, of Monticello, at 1:30 p.m. and will be officiated by Father Gerald Borawski. Burial will take place at I.O.O.F Riverview Cemetery, in rural Monticello. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association . Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church. Published in the Journal & Courier from July 19 to July 20, 2012
