Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 1st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Edgar and Illeana Manship officiating. Born on August 26th, 1940, in Des Moines, she was the daughter of Robert and Emily (Delavue) Taylor. She received her education in the area of her birth. Carol was married to Fred Kail and later was united in marriage to Vitus Kucera on September 21st, 1985, in Marshalltown. They have resided in Marshalltown all their married lives and she was employed in childcare, bakeries and restaurants. Mrs. Kucera was a faithful woman of God and attended the Great Commission Church, the Light of Life and enjoyed her family, children and collecting dolls. Many will remember her candy trees that her and husband Vitus would make for Christmas. Surviving her are her husband Vitus, three daughters Bambi (Kenneth) Slingluff of St. Anthony, Gail Cole of Toledo, Penny (Jose) Rodriguez-Kail of Storm Lake, Vitus's children: Ron Kucera of Traer, Richard (Marlene) Kucera of Cedar Falls, Fr. David Kucera of Manly, Iowa, Dennis (Gayle) Kucera of Traer, Barbara (Don) Hulme of Readlyn, Iowa, Michael (Karen) Kucera of Des Moines, Martin (April) Kucera of Traer, Betty Devine of Des Moines, Janice (Jack) Halupnick of Clutier, Brian (Susan) Kucera of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Pam) Kucera of Toledo, and Julie (Al) Nuzum of Baxter, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers John and Bobby and sisters Fran, Dorothy, Katie and Patty. In death she has rejoined her parents, brother Paul and sister Virginia.
