Description	:	Carol Florence Miller Schaible was born on August 8, 1921 on the family farm at Capioma, Kansas, the daughter of Ben Miller and Verna Swan Miller. She was one of three children born to this union. She attended rural schools at Capioma and graduated from Fairview High School in the class of 1939. Following high school, she worked in Sabetha at the creamery and the Firestone Store where on August 4, 1945 she became reacquainted with Charles Schaible. Read More	Carol Florence Miller Schaible was born on August 8, 1921 on the family farm at Capioma, Kansas, the daughter of Ben Miller and Verna Swan Miller. She was one of three children born to this union. She attended rural schools at Capioma and graduated from Fairview High School in the class of 1939. Following high school, she worked in Sabetha at the creamery and the Firestone Store where on August 4, 1945 she became reacquainted with Charles Schaible. They were united in marriage March 9, 1946 at Woodlawn Baptist Church where Carol had been an active member, teaching Sunday school and playing the piano for services. They began their life together at the Schaible farm. Carol was a homemaker and active in the community of Fairview and in particular, the Delaware Baptist Church where she truly lived a life dedicated to the Lord in all aspects, both words and actions. She was organist for over thirty years for the Church, in addition to playing and singing for many weddings and funerals. She organized the junior youth choir, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. The monetary gifts she was given for playing for services would always be refused or redirected to missions. Later, she started an air conditioning fund for Delaware Baptist Church. She was also active in the American Baptist Association, the Lone Star Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers, writing and reading. Carol just loved music. Her mother Verna saved up egg money to buy a piano for her when she was a little girl. She only had three or four lessons. She was gifted by being able to play by ear. Later, her husband Charles bought her an organ for home. He enjoyed listening to her play and encouraged her. She was very proud of her family, her son Charles Alan and daughter Charlet Carol. Later, she was excited to welcome grandchildren, Austin Mathias White and Sarah Diane White and Christopher Charles Schaible. Carol died on December 11, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leslie and Gale and her son Dr. Charles Alan Schaible. She is survived by her husband Charles and her daughter Charlet and grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Fairview Delaware Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Spangler officiating, followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 10 a.m. Monday, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 that evening.
