Description	:	Carol Jean Radden, 60, of Des Moines, passed away on Saturday December 14, 2019, surrounded by her family at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 20 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, Des Moines with family present for a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Berwick Cemetery. The family invites attendees to dress casually as Carol requested. She was born Carol Jean See on April 28, 1959 to Donna and Philip “Stub” See in Iowa City. She grew up in Albia where she graduated from Albia High School in 1977. She met Marvin T. Radden in 1983, and the two were married July 30, 1983 at Camp Dodge in Johnston. She gave birth to their first daughter, Teri Bailey in February of 1985, and a few years after that in December 1989, another daughter, Val Waage, was born. Carol was a homemaker and kept the Radden household running smoothly. In 1996, she received a kidney from her brother, Mike. She loved playing games, social media, cooking, and spending time with her family, and in her later years, her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching shows with her husband as well. She doted on her dogs, Angel until Angel’s passing in 2009, and Lucy. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Marvin Radden of Des Moines; daughters, Teri Bailey (Jon) and Val Waage (Tony); brothers, Philip See (Sue) and Mike See (Patti); and sisters, Karen Coatney (Jerry) and Rhonda Sipe (Dave). She had four grandchildren, Justin Waage, 10, Logan Bailey, 8, Olivia Waage, 8, and Joey Bailey, 4. She rejoined her parents, Donna and Philip See; sisters, Martha and Mary Kay See; and her beloved dog, Angel. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Lutheran Hospital Critical Care Unit for providing excellent care during such a turbulent time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
