Description	:	Carol LaRue Stough, 84, formerly of Jeannette, a true Child of God, recently went home to the Lord after a brief battle with cancer. She was born December 23, 1937, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha McCready Stough. Carol was a force to be reckoned with even at an early age. Read More	Carol LaRue Stough, 84, formerly of Jeannette, a true Child of God, recently went home to the Lord after a brief battle with cancer. She was born December 23, 1937, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha McCready Stough. Carol was a force to be reckoned with even at an early age. As a child, she miraculously survived severe burns from a home fire, and underwent more than eleven years of surgeries and follow up treatments. Despite the health setbacks, Carol was a dedicated student and a true-blue Jay Hawk. She was also known as the neighborhood tom-boy and played any game that the boys had underway. She proudly graduated from Jeannette High School in 1957, and never missed a class reunion. After graduation, Carol spent some time as a nanny and then joined the service industry. She worked in the dry-cleaning business for the remainder of her working years. Outside of work, Carol was an avid bowler and accumulated many trophies and awards for her athletic prowess on the lanes. She never married but absolutely loved children and animals. Every dog was her friend, and every child was fair game for a hug or a scolding depending on what they were up to. Carol was not a traveler, but she did take her dream trip and went to Hawaii and walked to the top of Diamond Head. The one thing that Carol was the most humble and grateful for, was her 60 years as a Sunday School Teacher at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeannette. She said God saved her from the fire because she pledged her life to the church while in the hospital. Carol was a blessing to many young children and to her many nieces and nephews. She is the last of her siblings to go to the Lord, predeceased by Jim, Beverly, Janet, Sue Ann, and Alan. Interment will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin, Pa.
