Jimmy Noland and the late Murlene (Dowdy) Noland in Russellville, AR on July 24, 1960; and finished her race on earth on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Her passion in life was to glorify Christ through serving her family and ministering to others. She married James Martin on May 31, 1980 and faithfully assisted him in pastoral and missionary/evangelistic ministry for 34 years.Carol had a servant’s heart and she truly loved her fellow man. She devoted her life to serving Christ when she was 4 years old and she continued serving Him throughout her life. Carol enjoyed cooking, housekeeping, reading, financial consulting, and simply being a mother and wife. She will be forever remembered for extending God’s love to each one God brought to her, whether on the mission field or at home.She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Martin; children Jason & Christa Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, Janae & Victor Persinger of Conway, AR, Joseph Martin of Mount Vernon, TX and fiancé, Ruth Maggard, of West Alexandria, OH, Joanna Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, Jamin Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, Judson Martin of Lewisville, TX, Julie Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, Jalisa Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, Jordan Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, and Joy Martin of Mount Vernon, TX; grandchildren DeLaynie, Westen, Kodi, and Avonlea Martin of Mount Vernon, TX, and Trinity, Liberty, and Colson Persinger of Conway, AR; siblings Randy & Fran Noland of Bigelow, AR, and Susan Noland of Waxahachie,TX.She has numerous other family members and friends, whom she “adopted by love” into her own. Her life will be celebrated with a visitation service at Lake Chapel Church on Friday, December 5, from 5:30 -8:30 PM. The funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, TX, on Saturday, December 6, at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Franklin County, TX. The officiants will be Pastor Gerald Hood of Mount Vernon, TX, and Rev. Mike Shelton of Neosho, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Hope For The Home Ministries at P.O. Box 975, Mount Vernon, TX 75457.Services under the direction of Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home.
