Read More	In Loving Memory Of Carol Mae Wurst Friedli Stauffer Carol Mae (Wurst) Friedli Stauffer was born September 15, 1927 on a farm south of Utica, Nebraska, to Emanuel Eugene "Manny" and Amalia “Molly” Schwerin Wurst, the fourth of five children. She passed away in her sleep Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Crestview Care Center in Milford at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 28 days. As a young girl she attended Star Country School near Utica and graduated with the class of 1945 from Milford Public School. She completed Normal Training requirements and taught in a one room country school for two years. She was baptized in her infancy at Salem Methodist Church. Upon joining East Fairview Mennonite Church, she was baptized as an adult. She was united in marriage to Calvin Friedli in 1947 at Salem Methodist Church and to this union three sons, Douglas, Daniel and David were born. Together they farmed near Salem Church where they built a Grade A dairy operation. They were active members of Salem Methodist Church where they sang in the choir and served their church in many ways. They enjoyed their extended family. Calvin passed away of cancer in 1960 and while Carol was a single mother, raising her sons, she was an active member of the Milford United Methodist Church. She was blessed with a second marriage to William J. Stauffer, Sr. on April 15, 1971 and William’s daughter, Linda, and son, William Jr, were added to her family. Carol joined East Fairview Mennonite Church and continued to serve her God. She was known as a devout Christian, studying her devotions faithfully every day, displaying her faith over the years with love and compassion for her children and others. Together, they enjoyed traveling across the country as well as special times spent fishing. They especially enjoyed the time spent with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol was an avid gardener, as well as cooking and baking for her family. She was known for her fried chicken, her Christmas bread braids, hard candy, and chocolate chip cookies. In addition, Carol was often putting together puzzles of all kinds and cross-stitching quilts. Survivors include: her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Pat Friedli, Dan and Darcy Friedli, Dave and Kathy Friedli, William Jr. and Sharon Stauffer; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Beckler; 11 grandchildren and spouses; 21 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Marvene Wurst; sisters-in-law, Lola Kennel, Ruth Schweitzer, Fairmont, Lucille Stauffer, and Gwen Hershberger; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by: her parents: both husbands, Calvin and William; grandsons, Mark Beckler and Kerry Stauffer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lela and Francis Grimes, Doris and Leonard Heller, Edith and Kenneth Gloystein' sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ione and Perry Schweitzer, Cordelia (Pat) and Harold Springer, Elwood Hershberger, Vern Stauffer, Wallace and Edna Stauffer, Les Kennel, Lyle Schweitzer. Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Bellwood Mennonite Church, Milford with Pastors Bill Saltzman and Kyle Roth officiating. Private family Interment at Salem Cemetery.
