Description	:	Carole Gaye (Oyler) Teel went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 10, 2021. She passed peacefully at the age of 90 years, 4 mos and 22 days in her home on Cowskin Prairie where she had resided the past 10 years. Carole was born on December 19, 1930 in Sand Springs, OK to Lyle and Laura Oyler. She passed peacefully at the age of 90 years, 4 mos and 22 days in her home on Cowskin Prairie where she had resided the past 10 years. Carole was born on December 19, 1930 in Sand Springs, OK to Lyle and Laura Oyler. At the age of 11 mos old, Carole's father was killed in a hunting accident which left her mother to raise 6 children alone. Carole watched her mother persevere by taking on ironing, cleaning and many other minimal jobs to raise her children. Carole learned at a young age how to serve others especially in the time of need and this became her passion. She lived the majority of her childhood in Southwest City, Missouri and graduated high school in 1949. Carole married Howard Teel on October 22, 1949, in Carroll County, AR and thye moved to Medford, OK but shortly returned to Delaware County, where she resided the rest of her life. To this union were born four sons, Gregory Howard, James Douglas, Gary Michael and Jay Russell. The boys spent the majority of their years on Whitewater creek. Even though it was hectic and crazy she quotes, 'my greatest accomplishment was my four boys and those were some of the happiest times of my life'! She later married a classmate Jack Williams who preceded her in death in 1990. She was a wonderful servant of the Lord and attended church through the years at Whitewater Baptist, First Christian, Elk River Baptist and Faith Church. Carole volunteered for many years as a Cherry Red at the Grove Hospital and her most recent service was dedicating her weekly time to serve those at the free Christian Medical Clinic in Grove for 10 years. Carole was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies and made hundreds of dozens of them that she shared with family/friends/neighbors and community throughout her years. She was known to show up with a pot of soup, a dessert or those a plate of those famous cookies at your door step in a time of need or just because she felt led to do so. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by a brother, Leonard (Leta) Oyler of Joplin, Missouri; four sons, Greg (Anita) Teel of Pryor, Doug of Grove, Mike (Julia) Teel of Grove and Jay (Kelly) Teel of Grove. She was known as Grandma, Grandma Red and Memma to seven grandchildren; Justin (Jayla) Teel of Grove, Steven Teel of Tampa, Florida, Lindsi (Tony) Crawford of Eucha, Jena Beth (Jared) Jones of Tulsa, Jason Teel of Stamford, Connecticut, Jarrett (Rachel) Teel of Greenville, TX and Jordan Teel of Grove. Her great-gr children, who knew her as Gigi, brought her much joy; Elyssa, Aiden, Charlotte, Carson, Caston and Isaiah. Carole was also blessed with a very special, loving, caring friend and honorary daughter, Diana Roe (David) of Fayetteville, AR who cared for her tenderly this past few weeks. Carole believed in celebrating 'going home'! Therefore, she requested a gathering of family/friends to honor her long life. Following an intimate graveside service in Southwest City cemetery at 3 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 the family would like to invite you to join them for a time of cookies and commemoration at the First Christian Church (located at 4th and Grand in Grove) at approximately 5pm - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, Carole requested any donations be made to honor her to the Grove Christian Medical Clinic that has served our community for almost 20 years.
