Description	:	Carole Sue Donovan, 75, of Belle Plaine, died March 22, 2008, in SunnyCrest Nursing Center in Dysart, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, with Rev. Michael Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Carole worked 42 years as a physical therapist at several veterans homes, the Marshalltown County Care Facility, private practices specializing in geriatrics in Mason City, and became the director and chief physical therapist for the Easter Seal Society of Crippled Children and Adults. Carole served in many professional societies, and continued to work in consulting and therapy for many years. She was recognized by the University of Iowa for her curriculum development to advance physical therapy interns into geriatrics. She was also an avid believer in soil conservation, and supported scholarships to Iowa students returning to farm in Iowa. She spent countless hours tending her garden, watching birds and teaching others the value of the environment. She always had a smile, and was very proud of the Donovan Century Farm. She is survived by one brother, William (Marion) Donovan of Belle Plaine; two nieces, Maria Rieck and Maureen Donovan, both of Belle Plaine; and one nephew, Tom Donovan of Belle Plaine.
