Mrs Wiedemeyer was well known in the Carroll area where she spent all of her life. She was born on a farm near Glidden Sept 2, 1885, a daughter of the late Daniel J and Sophia Ott Wenck, who were prominent pioneers of this community. Her maiden name was Caroline Dorothea Wenck. When she was nine years old she came to Carroll to live with her sister, Miss Sophia Wenck, at the H.E. Russell home. She attended the Carroll grade and high school, having been graduated from high school with the class of 1904. The following year she entered the New England Conservatory of Music at Boston, Mass. Because the climate of the east coast did not agree with her, she was unable to complete her course, having another year in her schedule at the time she left the conservatory. She then returned to Carroll, where she continued to make her home with her sister, Miss Sophia Wenck, until the time of her marriage. She married W.I. Wiedemeyer in Chicago July 28, 1913. Mr. and Mrs. Wiedemeyer have resided in Carroll since their marriage, living in their home at 1015 North Adams Street. They have spent the last ten winters at San Antonio, TX. Besides her husband, Mrs. Wiedemeyer leaves 5 sisters and three brothers: Miss Sophia Wenck, Mrs D.A. Juergens, and Mrs Leo Carver all of Carroll; J.D. Wenck and Mrs G.A. Steigerwalt of Glidden; Mrs Mary Rocksein of Spirit Lake; D.J. Wenck of Marathon; and Charles C. Wenck of Springfield, Mo. She also leaves many other relatives. Mrs. Wiedemeyer was preceded in death by her mother, who died in April 1911, her father, who passed away May 1919, and one brother, Frank, who died Oct 6, 1935. Death claimed Mrs. Wiedemeyer at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at the St. Anthony Hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec 11. She had been bedfast since Nov. 5, having been cared for at her home until she was removed to the hospital.
