Read More	IN PEACEFUL SLEEP. --------------------- Mrs. August Zimmerman Died Sunday Night at Rochester, Minn. -------------------- Mrs. August Zimmerman passed away Sunday night in the hospital at Rochester, Minn., following an operation to remove a goiter. The patient seemed to be improving nicely from the effects of the ordeal and the husband, who had been a constant attendant at the bedside, was assured that all looked well. He left the room for a short respite and before the night had passed was summoned to find that his loved companion had quietly entered the realms of rest. The news of the death of Mrs. Zimmerman was a sad blow to the members of the family and to her many friends in this county, where she had lived for a long time. Mrs. Zimmerman possessed the attributes that brought sunshine into the home. She was at all times considerate of the welfare and happiness of others and especially was she devoted to her home. Around the sacred hearth she poured out her love and husband and children were the recipients of her many virtues. The bereaved husband, sons and daughters have the sincere sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow. The remains arrived in this city Tuesday, accompanied by the grief-stricken husband. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Montezuma Methodist church, conducted by Rev. George Blagg, assisted by Rev. W. W. Burdine, and the remains laid to rest in the beautiful Masonic and I.O.O.F. cemetery. OBITUARY Karolina Hochwarth was born in Helmhof, Baden, November 7, 1861, and departed this life November 6, 1916, aged 54 years, 11 months and 30 days. She came to America in 1882 and on August 4 of the following year she was united in marriage with Mr. August Zimmerman. To this union were born ten children, as follows: Mrs. Rose Gradert, Geneseo, Ill.; Mrs. Lena Graders, Annawan, Ill.; John Zimmerman, Thornburg, Iowa; Albert, Charles, William, Emma M., August, Joseph and Roy H., all of Montezuma. There are also eleven grandchildren. Mrs. Zimmerman came to Iowa in 1908, locating at Thornburg and moved to the farm near Montezuma in 1910. She was a good Christian woman, being a member of the German Lutheran church. She had labored hard in the making of a home for her family and she will be greatly missed from the home circle by her husband and children. Her death comes as a great shock to her loved ones and friends. On Friday she had undergone an operation at Rochester, Minn., and was apparently doing as well as could be expected. Mr. Zimmerman was with her on Sunday evening and when he left for the night all seemed to be well. But at two o'clock in the morning he received a call to go to the hospital at once and on his arrival there was informed that his wife had just passed away. The family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.
