She was born in Summerset, Ohio, Sept. 13th, 1827, and was married Oct. 16th, 1845. Shortly after her marriage she became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, in Summerset, Ohio. In 1855 they moved to Iowa, stopping at Fairfield for nearly two years. She was born in Summerset, Ohio, Sept. 13th, 1827, and was married Oct. 16th, 1845. Shortly after her marriage she became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, in Summerset, Ohio. In 1855 they moved to Iowa, stopping at Fairfield for nearly two years. In Sept., 1857, they removed to Bloomfield, when some years later she attached herself by letter to the Presbyterian church in this place, and remained a member thereof until Christ called her to higher joys above. Sister Law was the mother of six children, three of whom survive her. She was a loving, kind and affectionate wife and mother and those left behind cherish her amiable Christian character and her loving deviotion to the welfare of her family, to whom she was greatly attached, and her many warm loving friends. It was a great satisfaction to her to have all living members of her family present during her illness. She gave to all her parting blessing and admonition to meet her in heaven. When fully conscious that death was near she rejoiced in a blessed assurance of heaven and was heard frequently to exclaim: Jesus can make a dying bed, Feel soft as downy pillows are, While on his breast Ill lean my head; and breathe my life out sweetly there. We feel that the loss is ours and the gain is hers. Funeral services were held at the family residence and were largely attended. They were conducted by Revs Allender and Robertson, of the M. E. church.
