Read More	Widow, daughter of Izra Marstern sp? and Sarah Dusenberry. MO d/c 30160 Death of Mrs. Warren Houghton Carrie E. Marters was born in Auburn, N. Y. January 2, 1838; died at Clarence, Aug. 29, 1916 being 78 years, 7 months and 27 days of age. She moved from New York to Michigan, and 47 years ago came to Missouri where she has since resided. She was united in marriage to Warren Houghton Feb. 8, 1864 and to this unton two children were born, one dying in infancy. The husband preceded her 33 years ago. The deceased united with the M. E. Church in Clarence in 1881, and always lived a consistent christian life. She was a member of the O. E. S. and the local chapter conducted a very impressive funeral service at the church. One brother, one son, Charlie and wife, and daughter, Georgia, together with a large host of relatives and friends are left to mourn her departure. The funeral sermon was conducted by Rev. J. W. Pearson at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church after which the remains were laid to rest in the Maplewood cemetery. The COURIER extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
