Read More	Source: Hinton Gazette March 7, 1929 EARLY STANTON RESIDENT DIES Mrs. Caroline Beck, a pioneer resident of Plymouth County, died at the home of her son, H. H. Beck, in Stanton township, Friday morning, March 1, following a lingering illness and general decline in health consequent on old age. She was past 80 years of age. Mrs. Beck had been in poor health for the past two or three years. Her maiden name was Caroline Eichorst and she was born September 20, 1848, in Bralosleine, Pomerania, Germany, where she grew to young womanhood. She came to America in 1863 with her parents and they settled near Ripon, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage with Joseph Beck November 24, 1867, and they engaged in farming near Blue Earth, Minn., and later came to Plymouth county and too up land in Stanton township where they farmed many years unto coming to LeMars in 1909. Mr. Beck departed this life May 21, 1912. To their union twelve children were born. One daughter died in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. H. L. Ideker, passed away five years ago. The surviving children are August, Albert, and Herman Beck, of Stanton township; Edward, of Lincoln; Charles, of Plymouth; Mrs. Edith Prust, of LeMars; Mrs. John Hoffmann and Mrs. M. J. Kounkel, of Leeds; Julius Beck, of Lake Benton, Minn.; Mrs. Geo. P. Kounkel, Seattle, Wash. There are 45 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held this afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rev. J. J. Vollmar officiating, and interment made in the family burying ground in the Lincoln Township Cemetery. Mrs. Beck was a good Christian woman and was esteemed by a large number of people who have known her for more than half a century. –LeMars Sentinel, Tuesday.
