All was done for sister Long that loving hands and skilled physicians could do; but the sheaf was fully ripe and it pleased God to take her home. Sister Long was in her seventy seventh year. She was a faithful wife, a loving patient mother and a devoted Christian; being a member of the Baptist Church for many years. Weep not children, your loss is her eternal gain. Safe in the arms of Jesus will her spirit rest until he comes. Sister Long leaves behind a daughter, five sons, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Cone, a devoted wife, mother and Christian; Joseph H. Long, ex tax collector of Hamilton County who now resides a Tavares, Lake County, Florida, William G. Long, who also resides at Tavares and has been a tax collector for nearly 20 years, John A. Long is a railroad man and has done construction work in Florida, Cuba and South America, Robert F. Long spent the early part of his life on the farm caring for his parents, but is now operating a turpentine plant in west Florida, Charles Ernest Long remains single and with his parents in White Springs. The unceasing care and comfort he rendered them is the strongest point of integrity. He also won distinction as a salesman and store manager. Each of the sons are members of the Masonic Fraternity, and all but two have made public profession and are devoted Christians. It is our prayer that these two may publicly profess the faith that they have so long cherished. Mother and Father waits just over the way to welcome them. The funeral was conducted at the residence in the presence of relative and a number of sympathizing friends. The procession was led be Elder D.O. Rivers of Oak Grove Baptist Church where after a short burial service Sister Long was laid beside her husband. The floral wreathes were gorgeous and betoken the appreciation of friends.
