Rev. CG Meyer was in charge of the services. Bearers were William Arndt, Henry Luckhardt, Oscar Weitzel, William Neitzke, Herman Greve and Fred Luckow. Burial was made in Sac township cemetery near Ulmer with Olerich Co. in charge of arrangements. Music for the service was furnished by the congregation. The songs were "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Asleep In Jesus.'' Obituary - Caroline Marie Krenzien Buse Rohde, the daughter of Charles Krenzien and Emma Quandt, was born on October 30, 1873 in Cook township, Niles, IL. She was baptized there in early infancy into the faith of the Evangelical Lutheran church, and was confirmed in this same faith on March 30, 1890 in Sac township, Sac county, Iowa, the ceremony being administered by the late Rev Schug. The deceased spent nearly her entire life in the vicinity of Ulmer and Lake View, Iowa, as she was but three years old when her parents left Illinois and came to reside north of Breda. On January 4, 1893 she entered the bond of holy wedlock with Lubert Buse. For some time they occupied a farm southwest of Ulmer and later on removed to another northeast of Ulmer. Their union was blessed by God with the birth of seven children, four sons and three daughters, all of whom remain to survive. Her husband, Lubert Buse, preceded her in death on December 8, 1927. After some time she entered upon a second marriage, being united with Robert Rohde on February 24, 1932. From that time on until the end she made her home with him In the city of Lake View. Her health was always good until about a year ago when illness began to overtake her. Especially during the past six months did her health steadily decline. Finally It became necessary on Saturday, March 20 to remove her to the hospital in Carroll. When her condition failed to respond to treatment, she was operated on as a last resort on the following Saturday, March 27. But this measure, too, was without avail, for the gracious and all wise Lord had decided to take her unto Him self. Quietly and peacefully she fell asleep, the end occurring at 8:45 a.m., on Sunday, March 28. She thus brought her age to the figure of 69 years, four months, and 29 days. Remaining to survive and mourn her passing are her husband, Robert Rohde, her seven children: Emma, Mrs. C.R. Anderson of Ida Grove; Christina, Mrs. Albert Kraft of Early; Fred Buse of Pocahontas; Minnie, Mrs. Albert Mohr of Auburn; Lou Buse of Ulmer; Herbert Buse, also of Ulmer; and Edward Buse of Fort Worth, Texas; also 4 brothers, Robert Krenzlen of Water Veliet, Mich.; Frank Krenzlen of Clearwater, Nebr.; John Krenzlen of Belle Fourche, S. Dak.; and Charles Krenzlen of Norfolk, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Otto Putbrese of Sac City; 19 grandchildren, and numerous other more distant relatives.
