Caroline was born on Sept. 13, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Elsie Canarr Gunzenhauser. She married Donald L. Clark on March 4, 1939, in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1998. She worked at J & K Button Company and the HJ Heinz Company and retired in 1982. She is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild and was a member of Grace Women. She was a past member of the Muscatine Hospital Auxiliary. She loved playing cards, crocheting, needlepoint, working with plastic canvas and baking. She enjoyed sharing her baked goods and candies with family and friends. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Sandra Bero and husband, Floyd, of Coleville, California, and Donald L. Clark Jr., Virginia Lippelgoes and husband, LaVern, and Craig Clark and wife, Chris, all of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; three brothers; and one daughter-in-law, Patti Hopewell Clark.
