I am not sure what the answer is, but if you have more thoughts I would like to hear them The below information was provided by: Contributor: RD Bridges FAG ID 47969932 Caroline Pence (82743036) Suggested edit: My notes on Caroline: She brought her family to Hardin Co. about 1854 or 55. Supposedly she was born in Germany, though it mentions nothing about it in her son Henry's death records. Later married a "George C. Pence". In 1900 she was residing with her daughter, Mina Crosser, in Ellis Twp., Hardin Co., Iowa. Her obituary says of Caroline: "Mrs. Caroline Pence, aged 90 years lacking only a few days, passed to her reward on Monday forenoon, the cause of death being old age. She had lived for some years with her son C. W. Danger. Mother Pence was greatly beloved by all who knew her, and will be much missed now that she has gone. She was buried from the Rough Woods church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the interment being in the Rough Woods cemetery. Deceased was the mother of C. W. and Henry Danger, two well known farmers in the vicinity of Rough Woods." In 1850, The family is shown in Whitley Co., Indiana. Shown are Henry, age 14 b. PA; Lewis, 10 b. Ohio; Louisa, age 4, b. Indiana; and William age 2, b. Indiana. Caroline was stated as being born in Germany. Also listed is an 18 year old woman named Melzena, also born in Germany. Her last name is also Danger, so it is possible that she may have been a sister to Lewis Sr. Notes on Wilhelmine Reese: She and her family possibly arrived in America in October, 1832, according to Whitley Co., Indiana Naturalization records (Lewis, Henry and Frederick were all naturalized in Whitley Co.). In 1850, she was residing in Whitley Co., Indiana with three sons and her grandson, Frederick Danger. She is stated as being born in Germany. In 1860 she was residing with her son, Frederick, and possibly a daughter, named Louisa. She died at the age of 84 years, 13 days in 1870. this is contrary to the headstone information ✻ღϠ₡ღ✻ (¯' ´¯) '.¸. ♫ ♫ God Bless America the land of the free ♫ ♫
