In Sep 1855, she married Michael Winkler in Bay City, which was called Lower Saginaw before it was incorporated. Bay City was a village then and had a few hundred people. The growing lumber industry and buildings were springing up very quickly. The Winkler's built their home on the corner of 4th and Jackson Street and lived in their home for almost 50 years.
