Carolyn was born in Waukee on August 19, 1931, the daughter of Carl and Helen Hunter. She grew up in Waukee and graduated from Waukee High School in 1949. Carolyn married John Knoll on September 28, 1949. They were farmers in Dallas County for many years. Read More	Carolyn Louise Knoll, 86, passed away at her home in Adel on Sunday, November 19, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Carolyn was born in Waukee on August 19, 1931, the daughter of Carl and Helen Hunter. She grew up in Waukee and graduated from Waukee High School in 1949. Carolyn married John Knoll on September 28, 1949. They were farmers in Dallas County for many years. Carolyn also enjoyed a 25-year career at Brenton Bank in Dallas Center where she built many friendships and left a lasting impression on many members of the community. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center for 50 years. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to Carolyn. Ask any member of her family and they will tell you she was their biggest fan. Especially in her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling to special destinations both near and far. Her favorite place to visit was Okoboji. Carolyn is survived by her sons Gary (Christine) of Earlham, Michael (Roxanne) of Adel; daughter Lynn (John) Chambers of Dallas Center; 7 grandchildren: Rachel (Chad) Spyksma, Seth Chambers, Damon (Meleena) Chambers, Clint (Katie) Knoll, Bree (Gil) Chambers, Rhett (Joanne) Knoll, Ryan (Corey) Coon; 15 great-grandchildren: Shane, Justin, and Tanner Spyksma, Hailey, Ty, Tucker, and Pacie Chambers, Mya, Paige, and Talan Vongphasouk, Olivia and Gabe Morales, Adrienne, Hudson, and Coen Knoll; sister Kay Warford of Arizona. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center, with funeral services at the same location on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 am.
