Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at Walker Funeral Home with Rev Ron Blix officiating. Burial will be in Memory Cemetery at New Market. Her father and step-mother are Mr and Mrs Orville Wood of New Market. Clarence Wood of New Market is a grandfather. Mr and Mrs Merle Parsons of New Market are father and mother-in-law. Don Parsons of Norwalk is a brother-in-law. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 7-9 pm Friday. She attended school at New Market graduating in 1956. She attended A.I.B. of Des Moines, graduating in 1957. On June 9, 1957 she was married to Richard Parsons of New Market. To this union two children were born, Richard Alan and Andrea Dawn. Carolyn had a wonderful talent for oil painting and enjoyed it as a hobby. She also loved to work out of doors gardening and caring for her flowers and especially liked to work with roses until unable to care for them. Another of her interests was working on the Alumni Banquet. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Wood, her grandfather Jay Harkless and Grandmother, Nora Wood. She is survived by her husband Richard, children Richard and Andrea, her father and step-mother, Mr and Mrs Orville Wood, a brother, Wayne Wood, wife Melva and son Casey of Council Bluffs, a grandfather and step-grandmother Mr and Mrs Clarence Wood, Father and Mother-in-law, Mr and Mrs Merle Parsons, a brother-in-law Don Parson, wife Sue, children Donald and Donna of Norwalk, Iowa.
