She was born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Cope, the daughter of the late John W. Fogle Sr. and the late Florence Griffith Fogle. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who loved to cook for her family; she was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Powell Oil Company. She was the widow of the late L. Richard Bolen Jr. and was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Fogle Jr., and a sister, Sarah F. Boswell. Survivors include two sons; Luther R. "Rickie" Bolen III and Ronnie W. Bolen, both of Orangeburg; three grandsons, Luther Richard "Rick" (Anna M.) Bolen IV of Mount Pleasant, Mitchell R. "Chevy" Bolen of Norway, Judd C. Bolen of Orangeburg; one great-grandson, Jacob R. Bolen of Mount Pleasant. Friends may call at the residence, 2079 Pinebrook, Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1240 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
