Death for C. F. Dinkens is Sudden Body of Pioneer Farmer is Placed at Rest in Mayview Cemetery. Carol Francis Dinkens died suddenly at his home in Pomeroy Wednesday evening, (Feb. 7th.) Mr. Dinkens had not been well, but was not thought to be in danger up to the moment of his death. He passed away immediately after going to bed. Mrs. Dinkens was in the room with him... Mr. Dinkens had complained of poor health for two or three years, but had not been confined to his home. He was born in Lafayette County MO., March 21, 1857, and on October 30, 1879, he married Miss Julia Dickson, who survives him. She is a sister of Gilbert Dickson. He leaves three daughters - Mrs. Grace Jeffreys of Lewiston, Mrs. Willia Pool of Spokane and Miss Gene Dinkins of Pomeroy. The oldest daughter, Mabel, was drowned in the Deadman creek in 1904. Mr. Dinkens and his family came to Garfield county in 1882. He bought a farm near Mayview originally owned by Gilbert Dickson, but rented it of recent years, making his home in town. The funeral was held from the home in Pomeroy, services being conducted by ... R. Tibbs Maxey. Mr. Dinkens was a member of the Christian church. The Pallbearers were J. M. Robinson, A. J. Taylor, L. N. Knettle, Lee Matlock and H.K. Lyon. Interment was made in Mayview cemetery.
