Description	:	Carrie Alice McDonald was born June 21 1877 in Petty, Lawrence, Illinois. Her parents were Isaac Poindexter and Sarah Josephine Keplinger. Her mom died when she was very young and her dad met and married Mary Rigall and in the 1880 census it shows Carrie living with Isaac and Mary and she had one brother Milton Poindexter. Besides Milton she had 5 more younger brothers, Including John, David N, Robert, Hugh and James D Poindexter. The 1910 census shows her living with her husband Ozias McDonald and that he was a farmer living in Louisa County, Virginia. It shows... Read More	Carrie Alice McDonald was born June 21 1877 in Petty, Lawrence, Illinois. Her parents were Isaac Poindexter and Sarah Josephine Keplinger. Her mom died when she was very young and her dad met and married Mary Rigall and in the 1880 census it shows Carrie living with Isaac and Mary and she had one brother Milton Poindexter. Besides Milton she had 5 more younger brothers, Including John, David N, Robert, Hugh and James D Poindexter. The 1910 census shows her living with her husband Ozias McDonald and that he was a farmer living in Louisa County, Virginia. It shows them having 4 daughters at the time, Mable W, Gertrude Mary E and Otie. It also says in the 1910 census Carrie had 5 children and 4 living so they must of lost a child during this time. In February of 1912 they bought 50 acres of land from Carrie's dad Isaac Poindexter In the 1920 census it shows them living in Richmond Virginia, It seems they lived with in a few blocks from her brother James Dalton and Hugh Poindexter. On the 1920 census it also says Ozias McDonald worked at the can factory as a laborer where Carrie's brother James also worked. They had also had a son Paul McDonald. In 1930 they were still living in Richmond where Ozias was still working at the can factory, it listed his occupation as a Tin Boiler, and said they were renting the house they lived in. On the 28 April 1935 Carrie passed away. Her husband and all of her children were listed as survivors, as well as 12 grandchildren and one great grandaughter, and 2 brothers James and Richard Poindexter but through much research she never did have a brother named Richard. She was buried in the Trevilians Brethren church Cemetery. Ozias died 10 years later in 1945 at which time obituary listed 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was buried next to his wife.
