Description	:	Funeral services were held at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hawarden for Mrs. H.W. Gibson, 62, who died at her home here last Friday. Rev. Ralph Wolston of Sutherland and Rev. Leon C. Nelson, the pastor, officiated. The Barnard Funeral home had charge of arrangements. Coroner Charles Vander Ploeg of Sioux Center said that Mrs. Gibson had suffered a nervous breakdown about three weeks previously and was mentally unbalanced when she took her own life. Carrie Brown was born August 11, 1887, near Howard Lake, Minn. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brown, moved to Sioux county when she was but a few months old. She was married at the home of her parents near Hawarden December 14, 1916, to H. W. Gibson. They made their home on a farm near Ireton until 1943 when they moved to Hawarden. To this union was born a daughter who died in infancy. Survivors are her husband; two step-children, Mrs. Ben Lundberg of Alcester and Allen R. Gibson of Hawarden; two brothers, Sam and Earl Brown, both of Forreston, Minn.; one half-brother, Harley G.Brown of Ireton, and three halfsisters, Mrs. E. H. Galbraith of York, Neb., Mrs. Ben Kooi of Pella, Iowa, and Mrs. Pete Bonnema of Hawarden. She accepted Christ when about 14 years of age and united with the Church of God. After her marriage she united with the Baptist church with her husband. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher and a faithful worker in the church until the time of her death. Relatives and friends who attended the funeral from a distance included: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brown, Mr. Earl Brown and Mrs. Lydia Freeman of Forreston, Minn.; Mrs. Harold Brown of Grandage, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Galbraith of York, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kooi of Pella, Iowa; Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Wolston of Sutherland, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kooi, of Rock Valley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Brown and Wilma, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bushby, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kooi, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Statema, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bonnema, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bushby, J. W. Bushby, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Muth, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Liston, all of Ireton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lundberg, Evelyn Mae, Carol and Lloyd of Alcester.
