Description	:	Carrie Ellen Soesbe, daughter of Harriet and Daniel Soesbe, was born in Ohio May 21, 1872. She came to Shelby county with her parents while still in her early youth, making the trip in a covered wagon. She died at the Myrtue Memorial hospital November 4, 1955, at the age of 83 years, five months and 14 days. She had been a resident of the Baptist Memorial Home in Harlan for the past four years. On July 3, 1889 she was married to Jacob Edward Bartrug who died in 1939. They were the parents of four children, three of whom survive.... They are Alfred Bartrug and Mrs Harriet McKay of Muskegan, Michigan and Mrs Ruth (C.E.) Miller of Omaha. Also seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A son preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from the Pauley funeral home November 7, with the Rev. A.H. Nelson in charge. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Bamsey, Harry Potter, Elmer Knouse, Elmer Potter, Floyd Fiscus and Ben McConnell. Harlan Tribune Harlan, Iowa December 9, 1955
