Born in Iowa in 1869, Carrie Isobel Van Auken came with her parents to the west coast when she was but six weeks old. The family first settled on San Juan island and later homesteaded near Bow. She was united in marriage to Frederick Molsbarger in 1895 and to this union were born six children: William Molsbarger, Mrs. Ann Hendriksen and Mrs. Lena McRae, all of the Bow vicinity; Mrs. Myrtle Denis of Edison; and Peter Molsbarger and Albert Molsbarger, both of Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Molsbarger passed away in 1901 and Mrs. Molsbarger was later married to the late Axel P. Johnson. One daughter, Mrs. Marie Hansen, of Bow, survives this union.
